The Questions Everyone Asks First

Is India safe, especially for women or solo travelers?

We understand this is often the first question, and we take it seriously. You travel as our personal guests, not as a group with a clipboard. Arun and Upasna are with you the whole way, we use trusted private drivers and carefully chosen hotels, and the pace and settings are selected with your comfort in mind. India is warm and welcoming to women travelers, including those journeying on their own, and with the right hosts by your side it is wonderfully rewarding. If you have specific concerns, please reach out; we are always glad to talk them through before you book.

I'm worried about getting sick from street food. Is it safe?

We completely understand this concern, it's one of the most common questions we get! As we have no special "iron stomachs," we've personally eaten our way through every restaurant, market, and street food stall we include on our tours. We wouldn't put it on your itinerary if we hadn't tried it ourselves and felt confident about it.

We are very selective about where we take our guests. Every food experience we curate is chosen with hygiene, quality, and safety in mind. Our promise to you: if we wouldn't eat there ourselves, you won't find it on our tour. One more layer of reassurance: we have spent our working lives taking care of people, and that same attentive care is with you at every meal, all twelve days.

What are the hotels like?

Every property is handpicked for character, comfort and location, whether it's a restored heritage palace or a 5 star luxury hotel. Exact properties are confirmed with your travel documents. We've personally stayed in and vetted every hotel we use and wherever we place you, it will be of true caliber. If a property ever changes before departure we only upgrade, never downgrade.

Are meals included?

Yes, daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner at curated restaurants, hotels, or walking tours are included. Beverages, including alcohol, are also included at select meals throughout the trip, which we'll designate in advance so you know what to expect. You’ll experience both local cuisine and high-end dining.

What makes this trip worth the price?

The price reflects premium accommodations, dining, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, curated experiences, expert guides, private transport, and thoughtful pacing, ensuring an immersive, effortless journey through India’s Golden Triangle. This is also our inaugural journey, and founding guests get our very best: our full attention, our favorite tables, and pricing that future departures are not expected to match.

Our Golden Triangle journey is a curated, fully hosted, slow travel experience, not a standard travel agency package or a rushed sightseeing tour.

Every hotel, restaurant, activity, and cultural experience is handpicked and personally tested by us. With our Indian heritage, we bring a deeper understanding of the customs, flavors, and traditions behind each moment. Unlike many tours where guests are simply handed off from one guide or driver to the next, we are with you every step of the way as your dedicated hosts, making the journey seamless, personal, and enriching.

We also travel differently. We believe in slowing down, spending meaningful time in each destination, avoiding constant hotel changes, and not filling the trip with exhausting drives just to fit more in. This allows you to experience India in a way that feels more relaxed, immersive, and genuinely connected.

Our Golden Triangle journey is for travelers who want to experience India through its food, culture, and everyday life, not just check off sights from a list.

With a strong culinary focus, this journey is especially suited for guests who see food as an essential part of understanding a destination. From memorable meals to two hands-on cooking classes, you will experience Indian culture through the flavors, traditions, and hospitality that shape it.

As a couple with Indian heritage, we personally host the trip from beginning to end. We travel with you, share meals with you, and guide you through Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur in a way that feels personal, seamless, and deeply connected. With small groups of up to 12 travelers, the experience feels intimate, personal, and unhurried.

While we love traveling with families in other settings, our Golden Triangle journey is designed for adults aged 21 and above. This experience is intentionally paced for travelers who want to slow down, savor exceptional food, immerse themselves in local culture, and enjoy meaningful shared experiences along the way.

Each day balances guided exploration, amazing culinary finds, and curated experiences with much needed time to relax. Days are thoughtfully paced to include iconic landmarks, local culture, and premium comfort, not long periods of transit. There are no rushed drop-offs, we will be your hosts for the entirety of the trip!

Yes, the itinerary covers the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Jaipur’s iconic palaces, and Delhi highlights, plus hidden gems often skipped by other tours.

Not at all. While our experiences, including curated culinary and cultural activities, are thoughtfully designed to enrich your time in Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, participation is always optional. Guests are welcome to enjoy personal time for rest, independent exploration, or simply savoring the surroundings at their own pace.

Most sightseeing involves manageable walking distances. We plan days to balance exploration and comfort, with transport for longer stretches.

Tap water in India is not recommended for travelers, and we take this very seriously. Throughout your entire trip, we provide bottled water to ensure you always have access to safe, clean drinking water, no hunting for bottles or guessing if it's okay to drink.

But we go even further than that. We are careful about the smaller details that most people don't think about, things like ice, sauces, and dishes that may be prepared using unfiltered water. We are also very careful about fruits and vegetables that are served raw and how they are washed. We personally vet every dining experience on our tours with these factors in mind, so you can eat and drink with confidence.

Yes, most dietary needs can be accommodated throughout your journey in Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur. Vegetarian, vegan, and dairy free options are widely available. Guests with severe allergies, particularly those requiring a strictly gluten free environment, should note that cross-contact in traditional kitchens can be difficult to eliminate. Please share all dietary requirements in advance so arrangements can be made with care.

Absolutely. The itinerary is designed for easy pacing, minimal hotel changes, and luxury transport, making it ideal for experienced travelers of any age.

Yes, alcohol is included with some of our meals, as noted in the itinerary, alongside water and other beverages. Things like a cocktail or wine with a special dinner or a local beer chosen to match a dish, rather than an open bar throughout the day. If you do not drink, that is completely fine; there is always a thoughtful non alcoholic option, and you will never feel you are missing out.

A private, air conditioned vehicle with a trusted driver carries us on every leg of the journey: Delhi to Agra, Agra to Jaipur, and Jaipur back to Delhi. Your luggage travels with us, every transfer is door to door, and you never handle any logistics.

International airfare to and from India is not included.

Once your trip begins in Delhi, all ground transportation within the Golden Triangle tour, including private transfers between Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, is included. This covers airport pickup, hotel transfers, and comfortable transport for sightseeing throughout the itinerary. If you need assistance coordinating flights or adding pre or post-tour travel within India, we’re happy to offer guidance.

Yes, most travelers require a valid Indian visa and recommended vaccines. We provide a pre-trip guide with the latest entry requirements, recommended vaccinations, and health tips once you reserve your spot.

Lightweight, breathable clothing, comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, and modest attire for temple visits are recommended. A detailed packing list is provided upon booking.

Groups are intentionally small (max of 12 people) to maintain a personalized experience.

February is one of the loveliest times to visit the Golden Triangle: generally sunny and mild, with days in the mid 70s°F to low 80s°F and cooler mornings and evenings, so layers are your friend. Once you are booked we will send a detailed packing guide, but in short, comfortable walking shoes, breathable daytime clothes, a warm layer for evenings, modest attire for temple visits. We will guide you on everything else closer to departure.

Yes. Our hotels offer wifi, and mobile coverage across Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur is generally good. Many travelers pick up a local eSIM or SIM card for data on the go, and we are happy to help you set that up. Others can activate their international calling plan through their cell phone carrier.

Fly into Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi (DEL). Once you reserve, we will send recommended arrival timing and help arrange a smooth transfer to our hotel so your journey begins the moment you land.

Absolutely. You are welcome to arrive a day or two early to settle in, or add an extension elsewhere in India afterward. We are happy to help you plan pre or post-trip nights, arranged separately from the journey itself.

Yes. Roam and Savor LLC is a registered California company, and we are a registered California Seller of Travel (CST 2172933-40), which you will find in the footer of every page on this site. California's Seller of Travel program sets strict rules for how customer payments are handled: your deposit goes into a dedicated trust account and stays there until your journey.

Roam & Savor is founded and personally hosted by us, Arun and Upasna, a husband-and-wife team based in Los Angeles. You can meet us virtually before committing to anything. Book a free welcome call from the Contact page, or reach us at info@roamnsavor.com or (323) 366-3648 by call, text, or WhatsApp.

One note: we are not affiliated with similarly named social media accounts or blogs. Our only website is roamnsavor.com.

Once you land in Delhi, nearly everything is included: your hotels, all meals from street food tours to fine dining, drinks or a local pour with select dinners, cooking classes, guided experiences, admission fees, and every transfer between cities. You'll pay separately for your international airfare, your India e-Visa, the required travel insurance, and the $3,000 single supplement if you'd prefer a private room. Personal extras like shopping, spa treatments, and souvenirs are up to you. Every gratuity, including for the local guides who join us in each city, is already included. No surprises beyond that.

To secure your reservation, click the “reserve your spot” button at the top right of our website and complete the registration form. Payment is handled online and we can accommodate a variety of payment methods, though credit card is preferred.

We want to make the booking process as seamless as possible. Here's how it works:

A deposit of $2,000 per person is due at the time of booking to reserve your place, and it stays fully refundable until we confirm the departure. The remaining balance is split into two installments: $4,000 due December 1, 2026 (or 14 days after we confirm the departure, whichever is later), and $3,995 due January 8, 2027. We email a friendly reminder before each one, so there is nothing for you to track.

We understand that plans can change. Until we confirm the departure, every payment is refunded in full, including the deposit. Once the departure is confirmed, the deposit becomes non-refundable, and if you cancel on or before December 17, 2026, everything you have paid beyond the deposit is refunded in full. After that date we are not able to offer a refund, which is why we require comprehensive travel insurance (see below). To cancel, email us at info@roamnsavor.com; your cancellation takes effect the day we receive it. We are always happy to walk through this on a call.

Absolutely! We'd love to connect with you personally. Simply fill out our contact form and indicate in the message field that you'd prefer a phone call, and we'll reach out to schedule a time to chat. We believe the best journeys start with a real conversation.

Yes, we require every traveler to carry comprehensive travel insurance, and we ask you to send us proof before departure. Because our group is small and our cancellation terms are firm, insurance is the best way to protect yourself if something unexpected comes up before or during the trip. Look for a policy that covers:

  • Trip cancellation and interruption
  • Emergency medical care and hospital stays
  • Emergency medical evacuation and repatriation
  • Lost, delayed, or damaged baggage

If you would like maximum flexibility, you can also add a Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) option, which lets you cancel for reasons a standard policy would not cover.

We are not an insurance provider, but we are happy to point you in the right direction. A comparison marketplace such as Squaremouth or InsureMyTrip lets you compare top-rated plans side by side in a few minutes. If you prefer to go direct, Travelex, Allianz Travel, and AIG Travel Guard are all highly rated and widely used by travelers. Whichever you choose, please arrange your policy soon after you reserve, since some benefits depend on insuring within a short window of your first payment.

Solo travelers are very welcome. The journey price is based on double occupancy, so if you would like a private room throughout, a single-occupancy supplement of $3,000 applies. If you would prefer to share, we will do our best to pair you with a fellow traveler. Just tell us your preference when you reserve and we will sort out the details together.

Until we confirm the departure, everything you have paid is refunded in full, including the $2,000 deposit. Once the departure is confirmed, the deposit becomes non-refundable, because from that point it covers the bookings we make on your behalf. If you cancel on or before December 17, 2026 (more than 60 days before departure), everything you have paid beyond the deposit is refunded in full. After that date (within 60 days of departure) we are not able to offer a refund, which is one reason we require travel insurance. Because we take only twelve travelers, a late cancellation is genuinely hard for us to fill. You can read the full details on our Terms & Conditions page.

No. Every gratuity is included in your trip price: restaurants, hotels, drivers, and the local guides who join us in each city. There is no math at the end of a meal, no envelopes, and no cash to carry for tips. You will never tip us; hosting you is our joy, not a service. If someone truly makes your day and you feel moved to give more, that is entirely yours to choose, but nothing is ever expected.

This journey runs with a minimum of 4 travelers. We will confirm the departure on or before November 15, 2026 and email you the moment we do. Until then, your deposit is fully refundable. If we do not reach the minimum, we cancel the journey and return every payment you have made in full within 10 business days. In the rare case a confirmed departure ever needs to shift, you will always have the choice of another date or a full refund of everything you have paid us.

Your meals, hotels, activities, and transport are all included, so the daily itinerary is covered. Where you will want money is shopping, and India is one of the great shopping destinations in the world: handwoven textiles, block prints, jewelry, spices, and crafts you will not find anywhere else. Bring or budget as much as your suitcase and your heart can handle. Cards are accepted in hotels and larger shops, while markets and independent artisans prefer cash, so it is worth carrying rupees. We can assist with the money exchange once you land. We will share a simple money guide before you travel.

No questions match that search. Write to us at info@roamnsavor.com and we'll answer it personally.
